The Quest Global Advancement Merit Awards (GAMA) 2024 celebrated excellence, innovation, and impact, with a star-studded event held on the 15th of December, 2024, at The Silverbird Galleria, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was a night of glamour and prestige as industry giants such as President Joe Biden, President Emmanuel Macron, Amb. Richard M. Mills Jnr, Mr. My-Ace China, Nigerian Governors of Delta, Bornu, Nasarawa, Kano, and Ebonyi, Senate President, Speaker House of Reps, Hon. Festus Keyamo, SAN, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, MTN, Dangote, Total Energies, Exxon Mobil, Pepsi, Standard Chartered Bank, The Mayor of Housing, Zenith Bank Plc, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Dsc, DD, NBC, Unilever, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Vento Furnitures, and the Bank of Industry emerged as the biggest winners of the evening.
The event brought together a diverse audience, including leaders from the private and public sectors, diplomatic representatives, and other distinguished guests. In attendance were notable personalities such as the Minister of Aviation, Hon. Festus Keyamo (represented by one of his Special Assistants, Madam Janet Oputa); Christ Embassy CEO, Mr. My-Ace China; the CEO of the Mayor of Housing; NLC Chairman Lagos State, Mrs. Fumi Agnes Sessi; Alhaji ESV Yusuf Usman Mohammed; representatives from MTN Nigeria, Vento Furnitures, oil and gas companies, and Lagos State Government officials, including Mr. Andy Kor and Mrs. Titilayo Gabriel.
Representatives from various embassies in Nigeria, prominent banks, and media houses such as the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Super FM, Feminist Magazine Abuja, AMAC Tribune Newspaper, and Delta State Television (DSTV) were also present, ensuring extensive coverage of the prestigious event.
The Quest GAMA Awards, designed to recognize and honor organizations and individuals driving positive change and development across various industries, celebrated outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic and cultural advancement.
Despite minor technical delays at the start of the event, the evening unfolded as an unforgettable occasion. The President of the Quest Global Advancement Merit Awards, Mr. Sunday Silver Evwierhurhoma, expressed his gratitude to the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria for their unwavering support. He assured attendees that lessons from this year’s challenges would shape a seamless and even grander event next year, as the awards are set to take place in Los Angeles, California, USA, in 2025.
In his address, Mr. Evwierhurhoma commended all the award winners for their remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to excellence. He emphasized that the awards are a testament to the recipients’ commitment to societal growth and global advancement.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the President of the NGO, Mr. Sunday Silver Evwierhurhoma, followed by a special recognition award presented to the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria for their role as hosts of the 2024 edition.
As the curtains closed on the Lagos chapter, the Quest GAMA Awards continue to set a benchmark for celebrating and inspiring excellence worldwide.
